Mangroves Tour
|
|
The mangroves are a group of unrelated woody
plants that grow on protected tropical coasts. Mangrove is also a great habitat
for many endemic birds like the mangrove cuckoo, mangrove hummingbirds, mangrove
vireo, Panama flycatcher and many herons and egrets. The mangrove forest in the
mid Pacific Coast is also important for the conservation of the scarlet macaw.
While this endangered species of bird spends most of the day in the forest, they
roost in the mangroves. The area is home to 250 species of birds, crocodiles,
mammals and insects.
Starting
from Puntarenas, duration 3 hours, space for 5 - 6 persons
on the boat, snacks and refreshments included.
